Mass shootings in places of worship, schools, the workplace, and shopping malls are happening more and more. Building intruders and those with criminal intent are becoming more bold and more violent in their acts. Having an emergency response plan and a team in place can help make a difference and potentially save lives. Knowledge, training, and wisdom are key to successful planning, response, and recovery.
Areas of Expertise
Risk Assessments & Emergency Operations Plan Development
Perform All-Hazards risk assessments, as recommended by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and develop a tailored Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) specific to your facility/agency. The EOP will also contain annexes for various emergency response types, such as: fire/evacuation plan, flooding, weather related disasters, power outages/facility damage, and public health and hazardous materials. The EOP will incorporate a detailed communication plan to support continuity of operations.
Develop Emergency Communications Training Material
Training and informational material to educate the general public with helpful hints when using the emergency 9-1-1 telephone number. This informational pamphlet is useful as handouts for those of all ages and at any type of business or event. They can be found at: http://www.magcloud.com/browse/issue/978382?__r=608028. We also develop training material for Emergency Police, Fire, and EMS Dispatchers. This includes: developing new hire training templates in simple check-list form, call-typing, call-taking techniques, and other emergency dispatching or dispatch center related topics. https://www.createspace.com/3760478.
Develop & Execute HSEEP Compliant Exercises
Design Homeland Security Exercise & Evaluation Program (HSEEP) compliant drills and exercises. We will design drills and exercises to test your EOP response and protocols as well as develop Exercise Evaluation Guides (EEGs) that will guide you on the specifics to test. We will construct an After Action Report & Improvement Plan (AAR/IP) to help identify and correct possible gaps in the plan or in the response and work toward implementing the best practices. Educate 9-1-1 will also assist you with building a Multi-Year Training & Exercise Plan (MYTEP) to ensure that you fulfill your exercise requirement.
Assist With Emergency Response Policy & Procedure Development
Review and assist agencies with developing and/or updating their emergency preparedness and response polices and procedures.
Staff Training on Emergency Response Policies & Procedures
Conduct staff training and refresher training on current and newly implemented response policies and protocols for current staff members as well as new hires. Training may be presented as an in-person classroom setting, webinar conference, or as part of an exercise or drill (but not limited to the methods mentioned). Agencies may also be a part of a "collective" training and exercise with other participating entities.
*Specializing in the new Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for Emergency Preparedness Requirements for Participating Providers & Suppliers
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a final rule that establishes national preparedness requirements for Medicare and Medicaid providers and suppliers. Overall, the rule requires that providers and suppliers perform an “all-hazards” risk assessment and establish an emergency plan for the facility; develop and implement policies and procedures to execute the emergency plan; develop and maintain a communications plan to support continuity of operations and on-going patient care; train staff in emergency preparedness policies and procedures; and conduct drills and exercises to test emergency plans.
